That gives them a serious advantage in situations where you might be struggling to keep up the frame rate.ĪMD has their own version coming, called FidelityFX Super Resolution, but it's 1) not available yet and 2) not known how good it will be in practice. Especially for things like 4K gaming, the AMD cards have to run native, but with DLSS on, the Nvidia cards only have to render at 1080p-1440p and can produce nearly the same quality as native 4K.
The dedicate RT cores in the 30-series are just unmatched by anything AMD has right now.ĭLSS is an Nvidia only feature, and it does make a pretty significant difference. When it comes to ray tracing, there's no contest. The 6900XT might beat out the 3080, but not by enough to make a huge difference. They're pretty even matched when it comes to raster.
